Finding a Happy ‘Medium’ Pun Intended… Analyzing Media Bias in 2022

Curious to understand media bias from all sides of the political spectrum. Specifically, after reviewing the 2020 Media Bias Chart (below), I found an intriguing difference concerning platforms in the ‘neutral or balance bias’ region. I wonder if media platforms could ever assemble a “fair” report? Or if bias forever seeps through the producer?

I must admit I found the table provided to be slightly more accurate, however…

Wanting to see the @YouGov data for myself

I found, according to YouGov:

Respondents were selected: From YouGov’s opt-in panel, to be representative of all U.S. adult citizens

Who responded: 1,500 U.S. adult citizens

How: Online

When: March 26–29, 2022

How the sample was weighted: According to gender, age, race, and education based on the 2018 American Community Survey, conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, as well as 2016 and 2020 Presidential votes (or non-votes)

Margin of error: Approximately 3% for the overall sample

Economist/YouGov Poll: March 26–29, 2022 — Trust in Media

I found the results interesting, and it still leaves me perplexed about the possibility of finding a worthy consensus as fair and neutral news?

I found the data filtered by 2020 presidential candidate choice to also be intriguing! I created a presentation to view the results!

Lastly, I shared the YouGov results on Twitter, hoping to start a conversation!
